360MC: Memory Lecture

  • Older we get the fewer new memories you have.
  • Reliance on technology is changing how our memory actually works.
  • Memory is relied upon for us media producers, it’s our craft.
  • We live each day creating new memories and forget old ones or adapt existing ones.
  • We remember important incidents, key events in our lives.
  • We remember things sometimes by collecting things e.g. toys.
  • We remember things that we learn from, experiencing something that has happened will make you remember not to do it/do it again.
  • Some memories seem real but are not, they are instead fleeting, a dream.
  • We remember, edit, share memories differently.
  • Stories are constant, context and interpretations will change.
  • False memory syndrome: Are we given false memories?
  • Memento Mori – pictures of dead children as the only proof that they actually existed.
